Flatpak Houses & Blu Dot Designs
If you like modern architecture, this is a pretty neat architect to check out. Charlie Lazor (a fellow Minnesotan) started both Flatpak and Blu Dot. Blu Dot is modern furniture… some cool things in there (like modern loft type furniture/storage). And Flatpak is his version of the modern house: a more affordable way to be modern but still have an individualized aspect to it… if that makes sense. If this interests you at all… you can go to the site and learn about it and check out his Flickr photos of the houses. His newest house in aspen is more upscale, but really interesting. As a side comment: G – if you’re reading this, I hope you appreciate the MNlove!!

I LOVE FLATPAK!I have been following the new architecture coming out of the whole simplified living movement, and the new small-footprint movement and absolutely love this stuff. Many of the contemporary designers are doing these “pre-fab” packaged and modular homes that are super modern in their aesthetic. I love it. I was looking into these when I was thinking about buying a house up here. Funny thing is that they are, at least last time I checked, not all that inexpensive to buy/transport/build/connect to grid. But aren’t they amazing….
I have some other bookmarks that I will try to find for you.
