KENYA PROGRAM

Annie’s description: This picture is from Kenya. The Foundation for Sustainable Development gave all its interns a seed grant to start a program. I worked with the director of the NGO I was at to set up a small rural health care program in the village of Ngwata. In this picture the NGO’s nurse has just given a typhoid vaccination to Kilonzo (the little boy), one of several AIDS orphans in the towns identified by a local priest to be incredibly needy.

Annie’s description: This picture is from Senegal. I’m with one of my host sisters, Mamboye, who also attended the preschool where I did part of my internship. We’re standing in front of her family’s house.

Our program took a three-day fieldtrip to Naples, Pompeii, and Paestum to explore various archaeological work.
