Projects are designed with specific goals: to introduce students to new tools or new techniques and to encourage them to apply gained knowledge to longer-term projects which encourage both artistic and technical exploration.”

The courses are taught in the department’s new photo facility that includes:
- printing (dark) room with 16 enlargers each with all the necessary peripheral equipment
- 3 printing sinks
- Film developing room with 2 sinks
- Classroom equipped with display walls and a project system
- Hallway display area
