Poetry for Peace is a St. Lawrence University run poetry reading held monthly throughout the fall and spring semesters. We invite community members to come read original poems, poems by a favorite author, or just to listen.

We encourage poems of all languages, but ask that poems read in languages other than english have a translation accompanying them. Because we believe that the empathetic community created by sharing any form of poetry can lead to social justice, we welcome all poems, not just those touching on the themes of peace and social justice. Poetry for Peace readings always offers a way to share our experiences of hope, suffering, love, and dreams and to affirm the belief that another world is possible.
