During the semester, we will explore the connection between democratic society and education. We will consider what democracy is, the education that Dewey thought would best enhance democracy, and what Dewey’s ideas mean for us today. In order to do the latter, we will need to ask whether our understanding of democracy has changed and whether tools such as this blog might mean that education needs to change to enable people to use such tools in meaningful ways.

I will ask that you post some ideas each week, and that you respond to at least one of the posts.
