The university of Bordeaux Montaigne, in the wine area, is a university of Excellence, with a strong reputation in Europe (there is only 3 of them in France: Strasbourg, Aix-Marseille and Bordeaux).

The University of Bordeaux Montaigne is accustomed to hosting foreign students from all over the world (including those from the United States). They have about 2000 foreign students and have an active language center which teaches over 450 students a year in languages classes at all levels of instruction.
