An Anthology

This is a short essay written by Alice Walker that was included in an anthology on black literary criticisms titled Within the Circle: An Anthology of African American Literary Criticism from the Harlem Renaissance to the Present. Some of the prominent writers whose work is featured include James Baldwin, Toni Morrison, Henry Louis Gates Jr., and Zora Neale Hurston. There is an entire section devoted to works on poststructuralist and black feminist theory.
