Research Post 7- NPR- Jenny Nordberg

This article is the basis for my research. Jenny Nordberg’s research about the “bachaposh” in Afghanistan. Furthermore, her research involves searching for a hidden resistance. The article in NPR asks certain questions about the ways in which Afghans are resisting the dominant culture by taking ownership and leadership of their lives.

One of the main aspect of her book and the interview is her emphasis of the rise of girls dressing as boys in more rural and conservative areas. By exploring these areas the most, Nordberg made was able to find more girls who had rebelled and resist the conservative culture dominant in their hometowns.
