I had mixed emotions when reading over the article the first time so I read through it again a few more times. The first thoughts that came to my mind was in fact that I don’t think the public would have taken as much interest in this story if she want an adult actress. If there was an exhibit with just any other mother breast feeding her child they would think it was natural and a way of life for women and children. There is always going to be someone who doesn’t agree with what someone else is doing, but I think the fact that this mother just happens to be an adult actress makes the situation worse. The public cant seem to separate the actress from her films and solely look at her as a mother who is breast feeding for the benefit of her own child. The public cant see her as anything but an adult actress.

Young’s response to “Furry Girl” was BADASS!
However, it is truly sad how sexualized/objectified the female breasts have become. Young’s exhibit seems to be her way of meshing her two worlds – of being a mom and an adult actress – together. I think that is admirable. However, it is clear that some people believe these to social realms have no business being united. I researched “Furry Girl” and was surprised with the information that I found. She is a vegan and is an animal activist. So I am kind of surprised that she expects Young to embrace her motherhood in private/separate from her profession. “Furry Girl” seems to let some of her activism shine through in her career.
Here is the profile I found on Furry Girl:
